How to fix Airtable API Key Deprecation

How to fix Airtable API Key Deprecation

If you have connected your Airtable account to Fintable before August 2023, you are likely still using the old deprecated API key method. To avoid any disruption to your sync, you will need to reconnect your Airtable integration.

How do I know if I am affected?

Firstly, if your Fintable dashboard does not show any warning messages, then you are already using the new OAuth method. Affected users will receive an email and see a warning message on their Fintable dashboard.

How do I fix it?

The simplest way is to disconnect and reconnect your Airtable account to Fintable. When reconnecting, you will automatically be upgraded to the new OAuth method. There is also another way to reconnect without disconnecting, see below.

FAQ

Will this create duplicates?

No, Fintable seamlessly merges existing records with new ones. You should not see any duplicates. However a disconnection and reconnection will trigger a Force Re-Sync of your Airtable base. This means that any records that have been deleted in Airtable will be synced again.

What if I want to reconnect without disconnecting?

You can do that too. Simply leave your Airtable connected and create a new integration, making sure to connect to the exact same base again. See a video of how to do this here.

Do I need to do anything else?

No, we will take care of the rest. You may also delete your deprecated token from Fintable, (marked as DEPRECATED), but that's not necessary, we will delete it for you anyway.
